Wednesday is feeling Good.

I smashed the hell out my phone today. I wasn't even doing some awesome shit with it either. Just leaned over to not kill myself on a lone gun man shoelace and back *SMACK*. Right top of it all smashed up. Defiantly wasn't a way I want to start my day but, eh.  This might become a blog as well as a photography page, but we will see. I'll leave you a RAW, none touched up photo. Right from the camera. I think getting it right the first time is always something I shoot for ( no pun in tended.) So whats up? If you are reading this leave me a comment maybe something like where you are from.

CONNECT

If you follow me on Instagram you might see that I have being wasting no time on my photography while I am traveling to work. I post a ( In Transit ) at least 4 times a week, documenting people that I find to be interesting or events that I come across. Yesterday I had an amazing event happen.

As I sat across from this man the light was hitting him in such a way that I had to snap a photo and quick since the TRAX (light rail system in Utah) was in motion. I grabbed my phone out, unlocked it as I kept a close eye on him and the light that was diminishing quickly. I hurried and opened my phone and started hitting the screen to take that photo, but since my phone has so many photos on it and the phone lagged as I was pushing the button to take the photo. I pushed it over and over again.  I snapped the photo (top) and I leaned back and to my surprise I got a much better shot then I could have imagined.

As I looked at the photo, my body shot beams of excitement out and must have connected with the people around me because without a word the man in the photo and the two other people across from me to the right simultaneously looked at me. I looked at them with complete and utter shock that this just happened. The man across from me (in the photo) kept looking at me the rest of the ride. Chills would not go away for 5 minutes.

Monday Motivation : FOCUS

Keep your goals aligned with what you are actually are doing. Don't let yourself get side tracked with what others are doing or not doing. Do whatever you are doing for yourself and let your work speak for its self. Have an amazing week.

DTSL

Our public library is basically amazing. This place if you haven't seen it or haven't visited Utah you should come downtown and check it out. Its an beautiful space, plus read a book instead of watching television. I would suggest anything by Chuck Palahniuk

The Black and The White

I remember walking with the wife into The Bagel Project (www.bagelproject.com) and seeing this guy looking over a City Weekly. I never really took photos of people before I took this but I pulled out my phone and snapped this photo. I never would have thought that it would change everything about how I look at light and composistion. Black and White has become something that I absolutely love to use while shooting people.

I'll be posting photos from my Instagram but also some photos that I haven't posted as well. So keep checking in and follow me on Instagram @ishooturbanutah for more of my adventures.  -Nicholas
